The Trains Make Us Crazy, Good at Cribbage

December 8th--Pretty much the entire day was spent on the train from Nice to Barcelona, with a two hour layover in Montpellier.

The first train was really swanky and comfortable, and we passed a ton of beautiful scenery along the Riviera.

In Monpellier we managed to find some food and a monument to eat it at as the weather slowly worsened.

The train from Montpellier was the Retro Train, with gross brown seats and weird 70's style ceramic decorations. We continued playing cribbage, a game I'd never played before--there was time for a ton of games as we finally got into Barcelona at 9:45 after leaving at 10 AM from Nice.

Near the end, we explored the mostly empty train and had time for a stunt photo in the empty food car.

We were pretty stir-crazy by the time we got off the train, and it was good to walk around. Mike headed off to find a hostel and I took a short cab to my friend Liz's apartment. Since this is Spain, we went out to eat at 11:00 and I got to try some great tapas.

A slow day, but a necessary one. It's funny how tired I was from doing nothing all day--even with several short naps during the day, I crashed into bed and fell asleep instantly.
